Netflix has released an early teaser for the second season of its biggest hit “Squid Game” which premieres on the service December 26th.
The first season premiered back in September 2021 and became a global phenomenon – pulling in over 1.65 billion viewing hours in 28 days and, to this day, remains the most-watched series ever on Netflix.
Lee Jung-jae as Seong Gi-hun, Lee Byung-hun as the black-masked Front Man, Wi Ha-jun as police detective Hwang Jun-ho, and Gong Yoo as the recruiter are expected to return.
New cast includes Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-Neul, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Park Gyu-young, Jo Yu-ri, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Lee Jin-uk , Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won and Won Ji-an.
In the second season, Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae), who vowed revenge at the end of season one, returns and joins the game again. Will he succeed in getting his revenge? Front Man doesn’t seem to be an easy opponent this time either.
Executive producer, writer and director Hwang Dong-hyuk created the series and is steering it through this second and a third and final season expected to debut in 2025.
