Disney’s D23 presentation is underway tonight, and the studio has revealed that Dwayne Johnson will star in a new title called “Monster Jam”.
The project will deal with monster trucks, and is said to be a live-action feature from the POV of the trucks and their drivers. Johnson, who was on hand to announce the film, dubs it “immersive and cool”.
Further specifics of that project are under wraps such as potential directors or writers.
That was followed by James Cameron showing up to promote the third “Avatar” film which isn’t due until next year.
Cameron says the film will include new cultures, biomes and settings not seen previously and that “it’s not what you expect but it’s what you want”.
The biggest reveal though was the announcement of the official title which will be “Avatar: Fire and Ash”.
As Cameron has previously teased we will see a ‘fire people’ tribe and concept art from the film was showcased with glimpses of a quite different look for these Na’vi.
