More from D23, as the event hits its stride. Previews, news and interviews will be coming thick and fast. James Cameron and stars Zoe Saldaña and Sam Worthington took the stage to show off concept art, but not footage, from Avatar 3. They also officially revealed the title of the movie.

Avatar 3 is officially titled Avatar: Fire and Ash.

As Cameron took to the stage, he quipped with the crowd:

“I came 7,000 miles from New Zealand for this… holy crap, that’s a lot of people. Is this epic or what? Most epic event for most epic fans.”

Cameron played to the full house at the Honda Center. He promised high emotional stakes, new cultures, and new settings. He went on to promise that you’ll see more of Pandora than you ever see saw before. He said:

“The new film isn’t what you expect, but it’s definitely what you want.”

Avatar: Fire and Ash lands in cinemas in 3D, IMAX, and just about every other format on December 19, 2025.

At this point, we fully expect it to defy any of our cynicism and complete lack of buzz to somehow go stratospheric at the box office once again.
