NEON has premiered the trailer and poster for Oscar-winning filmmaker Steven Soderbergh’s new supernatural thriller feature “Presence”.
The other month came the Canadian film “In A Violent Nature” which shook up the slasher film formula by depicting almost all of the narrative from the point-of-view of the serial killer.
“Presence” seems to be doing a similar thing but for the haunted house genre with the film shot entirely from the POV of the ghostly spectre haunting a house where a new family moves in and gradually discovers they are not alone.
Whereas ‘Violent Nature’ was shot from a third-person perspective, “Premonition” is reportedly entirely done from a first-person perspective.
“Jurassic Park” scribe David Koepp penned the script for the film which stars Lucy Liu, Julia Fox, Chris Sullivan, Callina Liang, Eddy Maday and West Mulholland.
The film premiered at Sundance earlier this year where NEON acquired the film for U.S. release. The film will arrive on screens sometime in January next year.
