Los Angeles native Patti Yasutake, best known for her role as Nurse Alyssa Ogawa in “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” has died. She was 70.
Yasutake reportedly passed away peacefully on August 5th surrounded by friends and family after a long battle with cancer. Yasutake played Ogawa across the last four seasons of “Star Trek: The Next Generation” and the films “Star Trek: Generations” and “Star Trek: First Contact”.
Her other work included films like “The Wash,” “Drop Dead Gorgeous,” “Blind Spot” and “Road to Galveston” along with shows like “The Closer,” “Bones” and more recently a regular on Netflix’s acclaimed”Beef”. [Source: THR]
The Last Disturbance of Madeline Hynde
Patricia Arquette, Michael Sheen, Tom Bateman, Vicky McClure, Michael Balogun, Kristina Tonteri-Young, Karla Crome, Aiysha Hart and Gemma Whelan will join Jodie Comer in Kenneth Branagh’s next directorial effort “The Last Disturbance of Madeline Hynde”. Filming is underway in the UK.

The Outrun
The trailer is out for German filmmaker Nora Fingscheidt’s addition and recovery drama “The Outrun” starring Saoirse Ronan, Paapa Essiedu, Stephen Dillane and Saskia Reeves.
The story centers on a young woman recently out of rehab for alcoholism who returns to her childhood home on Scotland’s Orkney Islands in an effort to heal. The film hits cinemas October 4th.
Rez Ball
Netflix has released the first trailer for Sydney Freeland’s sports drama film “Rez Ball” based on a Native American high school basketball team in New Mexico that competes for a state championship. The film will release worldwide on Netflix on September 27th.
Freeland and Sterlin Harjo co-wrote the script based on Michael Powell’s nonfiction sports novel “Canyon Dreams”. Jessica Matten, Kauchani Bratt, Cody Lightning, Dallas Goldtooth, Ernest David Tsosie, Kusem Goodwind, Zoey Reyes, Julia Jones and Amber Midthunder star.
