British national treasure Matt Berry and Brazilian actor/musician Gabriel Leone have scored recurring roles in the second season of Amazon Prime’s costly spy action series “Citadel”.
They join returning stars Richard Madden and Priyanka-Chopra Jonas, Stanley Tucci and Lesley Manville in the new run as well as new addition Jack Reynor.
The second season will begin production this year, with Joe Russo serving as director and once again continues the story of spy agency Citadel and its powerful enemy syndicate, Manticore.
Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Angela Russo-Otstot, and Scott Nemes executive produce alongside David Weil who also serves as showrunner.
In its first 24 days, the first season was the streamer’s fourth most-watched original series worldwide. It also made headlines for its incredibly pricy cost of $300 million for the whole season – an average of $50 million an episode.
Berry currently lends his voice to FOX’s “Krapopolis” and has a new “Cat in the Hat” adaptation at Warners. Leone plays F1 legend Ayrton Senna in the upcoming Netflix biopic miniseries “Senna”.
