Hollywood icon Tom Cruise is set to assist with the closing ceremony at this year’s Olympics Games in Paris reports TMZ.
Cruise’s involvement will tie-in with the part of the ceremony which sees the handoff between Paris and the host of the 2028 games – Los Angeles.
The “Mission: Impossible” star has reportedly filmed stunts in both cities as part of a pre-taped segment for the handoff in which Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo will pass the Olympic flag to L.A. mayor Karen Bass.
Cruise filmed a stunt at the Hollywood sign earlier this year which ties into the segment. The ceremony will see the 62-year-old actor rappel down the Stade de France in Paris, travel by plane to Los Angeles, and end up at the famous Hollywood Hills sign.
Neither NBC nor the IOC has confirmed Cruise’s involvement at this time. 2028 will mark the third time Los Angeles has hosted the Olympics.
Cruise has been filming the eighth “Mission: Impossible” installment around parts of Europe for much of the past year and has been seen cheering on athletes from the stands in Paris.
