Paul Thomas Anderson’s next film reportedly has a title – “The Battle of Baktan Cross,” a movie expected to be the “Phantom Thread” and “Licorice Pizza” helmer’s most mainstream film to date with a budget well over $100 million.
Leonardo DiCaprio, Regina Hall, Chase Infiniti, Sean Penn, Benicio del Toro, Wood Harris, Teyana Taylor, and Alana Haim star in the film which opens August 2025. [Source: World of Reel]
People We Meet on Vacation
“My Lady Jane” star Emily Bader will portray Poppy and “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes” star Tom Blyth will play Alex in the Netflix feature adaptation of Emily Henry’s bestseller “People We Meet on Vacation”. Brett Haley directs.
The story will follow the longtime best friends who took one week of every summer vacation together. However, things changed when they stopped speaking for two years. They agree to take one more vacation together to work their stuff out. [Source: THR]
Freaky Friday 2
Tony Award-nominated playwright and actor Jordan E. Cooper (“Pose,” “The Ms. Pat show”) scored a role alongside Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan in the “Freak Friday” sequel.
Curtis and Lohan reprise their respective roles as Tess and Anna Coleman alongside returnees Mark Harmon as Ryan and Chad Michael Murray as Jake among others. Cooper is one of several new additions alongside Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons and Manny Jacinto. [Source: Coming Soon]
Little Red
“The Descent” director Neil Marshall will reunite with frequent collaborator Craig Conway on the latter’s directorial debut – a new UK horror movie titled “Little Red”. Conway will direct and Marshall will executive produce.
Peter Stylianou pens the low-budget horror thriller that reimagines Little Red Riding Hood with a modern feel as a fifteen-year-old girl unravels the dark secrets in her family. No casting has yet been announced. [Source: Deadline]
Epic Mickey Rebrushed
A trailer has been released for “Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed” – the modern remake of the famed platformer video game title from 2010. The clip offers a look at the overhauled graphics for the title which will be coming to all platforms on September 24th.
