Lucasfilm has announced a December 3rd launch date for the highly anticipated release of its new live-action series “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew”.
People broke the news with a new feature piece about the series which contains some first-look photos showing off the young leads and Jude Law’s Jod Na Nawood mentor character.
The piece confirms the series is set at around the same time as the events of the first season of “The Mandalorian” – several years after “Return of the Jedi” and before the events of “Ahsoka”.
In the series, four kids make a mysterious discovery on their seemingly safe home planet and get lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy. Finding their way home, meeting unlikely allies and enemies will be a greater adventure than they ever imagined.
The four kids are Ryan Kiera Armstrong as Fern, Robert Timothy Smith as Neel, Ravi Cabot-Conyers as Wim, and Kyriana Kratter as KB. Also onboard is Nick Frost as a droid named SM 33, along with actors Kerry Condon, Tunde Adebimpe and Jaleel White.
The series is created and executive produced by “Spider-Man: Homecoming” director Jon Watts and writer Christopher Ford.
Watts, Jake Schreier, Lee Isaac Chung, Bryce Dallas Howard, David Lowery, and Oscar winning duo Daniel Kwan & Daniel Scheinert all direct episodes.
