By This Fall’s “Agatha All Along” serves as a spin-off of “WandaVision,” but it won’t be the only series set to be birthed by the first Disney+ Marvel Studios TV series.
Also on the way is “Vision,” a series which sees the return of the robot character played by Paul Bettany – more specifically the all-white version seen at the end of “WandaVision” which had all its memories restored.
In May came the news that Terry Matalas, the producer who took over as showrunner on the highly acclaimed final season of “Star Trek: Picard,” had been hired to serve as the “Vision” showrunner.
In a recent interview with Inverse, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige revealed he specifically sought out Matalas to work for Marvel because of how much he loved that third season of “Picard”:
“That’s how I got to know him. It was from his amazing work on Picard Season 3. I said: This is incredible. I don’t know how this exists. Let me find the person who made this.”
The third season of “Picard” was the first of the current “Star Trek” TV era to break into the top ten Nielsen ratings for streaming shows.
Feige himself is a big Trekkie, citing the ending of “Star Trek: The Next Generation” as one of the greatest in TV and previously discussing how the “Star Trek” films shaped the structure of various MCU sequels.
