Trafalgar Releasing, in partnership with AMC Theatres Distribution, will release a filmed version of Usher’s latest concert tour “Usher: Rendezvous in Paris” this Fall.
The plan is to release the film in approximately 2,000 locations across the globe starting September 12th and for a limited theatrical run – potentially only a few days.
Anthony Mandler directed the concert film, which reportedly: “incorporates the essence of his landmark cultural phenomenon Vegas residencies into a seductive French touch confession” says the press release.
Film in the midst of Paris Fashion Week at La Seine Musicale, it sees Usher performing some of this biggest hits like “Yeah” and “My Boo”. In addition, it gives audiences a look at his life outside of the stage.
Usher said in a statement: “I hope those who weren’t able to make it in person get to experience how special it was. As for those of you who were, I hope you experience the show and see what it takes to get there through a different lens.”
AMC and Odeon will provide core marketing support for the film in the U.S. and internationally. The film follows in the wake of last year’s “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” and “Renaissance: A Film by Beyonce” concert films
