This November sees Ridley Scott finally delivering the sequel to his 2000 sword-and-sandals-epic “Gladiator”.
Speaking with Empire, Scott revealed that the opening scenes of the film will be nothing short of epic.
He tells the outlet: “We begin the film with probably the biggest action sequence I’ve ever done. Probably bigger than anything in Napoleon.”
He also says the technology used on the new one will be quite different to the original:
“Computerisation and AI – you have to embrace it. I can have a computer read every molecule and wrinkle on a rhino and then cut it on a thick piece of plastic, absolutely as a rhino’s body, which is then tailored to a skeleton shape.”
Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, Connie Nielsen, Denzel Washington, Joseph Quinn, Fred Hechinger, and Derek Jacobi star in the film which will open in cinemas on November 22nd.
