Just when you got over the execrable horror that was the musical episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, the powers that watch over Star Trek might be about to do something even worse.
A live-action comedy series set in the Star Trek universe is coming to Paramount+.
It was announced during the Star Trek Universe panel at Comic-Con.
Lower Decks actress and writer Tawny Newsome will work with Justin Simien to write the show. Current Trek “mastermind” Alex Kurtzman will also write.
The synopsis that was shared talks of a group of Federation outsiders serving at a gleaming resort planet who find out their day-to-day exploits are being broadcast to the entire quadrant.
That feeling when they parody your Star Trek parody
There is talk of “odd couple pairings” and it has been confirmed as being set after Picard season 3.
Kurtzman, Simien and Newsome executive produce alongside Aaron Baiers, Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth.
Oh, how will we possibly survive the wait for this to make it to the screen? Tune in next week for a hilarious episode of Waiter, There’s A Tribble In My Soup and A Funny Think Happened On The Way To Ceti Alpha V.
