A quartet of “Star Trek” franchise veterans are joining the upcoming “Star Trek: Starfleet Academy” series on the Paramount+ service.
Robert Picardo, who played the EMH Doctor on “Star Trek: Voyager,” is returning along with a trio of “Star Trek: Discovery” alums – Tig Notaro as engineer Jett Reno, Oded Fehr as Fleet Admiral Vance, and Mary Wiseman as Sylvia Tilly.
Notaro and Picardo will be series regulars, the other two are guest stars and all are reprising their past roles.
They all join the previously announced cast Holly Hunter, Kerrice Brooks, Bella Shepard, George Hawkins, Karim Diané, Zoë Steiner, Gina Yashere and Paul Giamatti.
Production is set to begin next month on the series and follows a young group of cadets who come together to pursue a common dream of hope and optimism.
Under the watchful and demanding eyes of their instructors, they discover what it takes to become Starfleet officers and face a new enemy that threatens both the Academy and the Federation itself.
