Debuting alongside the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics, NBC has unveiled the first trailer for their upcoming mini-series adaptation of Fredrick Forsyth’s iconic 1971 novel “The Day of the Jackal”.
Eddie Redmayne plays the skilled assassin who makes his living killing targets for the highest bidder.
Following his latest kill, he meets his match in a tenacious British intelligence officer (Lashana Lynch) who starts to track down the Jackal in a thrilling cat-and-mouse chase across Europe, leaving destruction in its wake.
Charles Dance, Richard Dormer, Chukwudi Iwuji, Úrsula Corberó, Lia Williams, Khalid Abdalla, Eleanor Matsuura, Jonjo O’Neill, Nick Blood, Sule Rimi and Florisa Kamara co-star.
The new take follows in the wake of the famed 1973 film starring Edward Fox and Michael Lonsdale, and the loose 1997 remake “The Jackal” starring Bruce Willis and Richard Gere.
“The Day of the Jackal” will premiere on Peacock in the U.S. on November 7th.
