AMC has announced that “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon” spin-off has been renewed for a third season, in addition the location will shift from France to Spain for the new run.
Production on the new episodes will start next month and will be based in Madrid, with additional shooting planned around the Galicia, Aragon, Catalonia and Valencia regions.
In the third season, Carol (Melissa McBride) and Daryl (Norman Reedus) continue their journey towards home and the ones they love.
As they struggle to find their way back, the path takes them farther astray, leading them through distant lands with ever-changing and unfamiliar conditions as they witness the various effects of the Walker apocalypse.
Scott M. Gimple, who oversees the franchise, says it will be an “unseen, beautiful, horrific corner” of this broken world. Both Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride will return as Daryl and Carol respectively.
The news came as part of the San Diego Comic-Con panel for the show’s second season which is confirmed to be returning on September 29th and will finally see the two characters re-unite.
The first season, which was the No. 1 premiere of all time on the AMC+ streaming service, is coming to Netflix on August 19th.
