Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby, the Oscar-nominated writers of “Iron Man” and “Children of Men,” are scripting a live-action film adaptation of Sharad Devarajan’s comic “Shadow Tiger”.
Devarajan, Fergus and Ostby will all produce the film based on the title which is among the most influential to come out of India in recent years with hundreds of millions of views.
The comics deal with Rajan Shah, a brilliant and young lawyer who sees his career destroyed after challenging corruption in India’s legal system.
His life takes a turn when he inherits a billion-dollar empire and a mysterious power from the man responsible for his parent’s death. Haunted by his past, he vows to protect the innocent and bring justice to those beyond the reach of the law.
This will be the first time the writers have returned to the superhero genre since that original film that kicked off the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
After that 2008 movie they created the story for Jon Favreau’s “Cowboys & Aliens” in 2011. Then, from 2015 through to 2022, they served as the creators and executive producers for Syfy and then Amazon’s highly acclaimed six-season sci-fi series “The Expanse”.
Devarajan is known for co-creating Pavitr Prabhakar, the ‘Indian Spider-Man’ who was one the characters featured in “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” – which became the highest-grossing animated box office release in India’s cinema history.
