Due to strikes and multiple development delays, the Alien TV series seems like it has been in the works forever. Now, after all these delays, the Noah Hawley project has wrapped production.
It has been shooting in Thailand, and multiple crewmembers have been sharing pictures from the series’ wrap party.
The images from the wrap party have been gathered together by AVP Galaxy, and include a look at what could be some production art and a corporate logo from the production on a t-shirt.
The events of the series will take place in the year 2092, which places it a year prior to Prometheus. Reports say it will use the retro-futurist look of the original Alien, rather than the sleek look of tech in Prometheus.
Rumors also say that a starting point for the inception of the series was Ripley’s line in Aliens:
“…fucking each other over for a percentage…”
The plot is said to center on the corporate greed that underpins a lot of the off-world activity depicted in the Alien universe, and the boardroom decision-making that led to the events in Alien and beyond.
AI has also been mentioned, and it is known that Timothy Olyphant will play a synth in this Alien TV show. Meanwhile, Bangkok is expected to fill in as the cyberpunk, low-future tech sprawl of the city the show will be set in.
Alex Lawther, Samuel Blenkin, Essie Davis, Adarsh Gourav, Kit Young, and David Rysdahl co-star in the series which will premiere on FX next year. This is not to be confused with Alien: Romulus which launches in cinemas next month.
