Dan Stevens (“Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire,” “Abigail”) will both executive produce and lead the cast of the third season of AMC’s anthology drama “The Terror,” this season to be based on Victor LaValle’s novel “The Devil in Silver”.
The story centers on Pepper (Stevens), a man who finds himself wrongly committed to New Hyde Psychiatric Hospital in Queens.
There, he must contend with patients who work against him, doctors who harbor grim secrets, and perhaps even the very Devil himself.
In a hellscape where nothing is as it seems, he finds that the only path to freedom is to face down the entity which thrives on the suffering within New Hyde’s walls – but doing so may prove that the worst demons of all live inside him.
Chris Cantwell (“Halt and Catch Fire,” “Paper Girls”) and LaValle are writing and executive producing while Karyn Kusama (“Yellowjackets”) will direct the first two episodes of the six episode run which will air in 2025.
The new season is heading into production nearly five years after the show’s second season aired back in 2019. The highly acclaimed Arctic-set first season was based on the Dan Simmons novel “The Terror”. The second was an original set during WW2.
