GKIDS has announced some stunning Blu-ray and 4K editions of the highly acclaimed “League of Legends” universe-set Netflix animated series “Arcane” coming this Fall.
The series follows the origins of iconic League champions Vi and Jinx as they become caught in the power struggle between the utopian city of Piltover and the oppressed underground city of Zaun.
Praised as one of the best video game adaptations ever created, the series won four primetime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Animated Program.
Multiple different types of releases are on offer. First is digital download-to-own copies on September 24th on platforms like Apple and Amazon.
Then there’s a basic Blu-ray on October 8th which also includes the “Bridging the Rift” making of documentary, the ‘Making Mel’ Featurette and four scene breakdowns. Also out the same day are two Steelbook versions – one Blu-ray, one 4K UHD.
The crown jewel of the set is a limited run collector’s edition in a rigid clamshell box coming on October 22nd. Only 6,500 copies are being produced.
It includes all the previous extras plust a double-sided poster, six art cards, a map of Piltover, and an expansive dice set containing a Hexcore-inspired d20 die, seven liquid core resin dice inspired by Hex crystals, a protective pouch and decorative dice box.
The 4K versions have all been mastered in Dolby Vision HDR and will include standard Blu-Ray disc versions as well.
