James Gunn has offered an update on the filming status of his “Superman” movie, confirming that the Cleveland leg of the shoot is done.
Over the past few weeks, plenty of video and photos from shooting taking place in the Ohio city have been spread all over social media as the production shot plenty of scenes outdoors.
In a Threads posting, he thanked the city for “six amazing weeks of shooting”.
He also clarified that it’s only the Cleveland shoot that was done and the overall film’s production will had weeks to go:
“We are not done shooting. Still a couple weeks left. Just done shooting in Cleveland. And yeah it’s a long shoot… but we’re getting close!!”
This matches in line with estimates prior to filming that the production would run between February and August this year.
The film’s cast includes David Corenswet as Superman/Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, and supporting roles from Skyler Gisondo, Sara Sampaio, Sean Gunn, Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Isabel Merced, María Gabriela de Faría and Nathan Fillion.
The new “Superman” opens in cinemas July 11th 2025.
