Rian Johnson’s Emmy-winning detective series “Poker Face” has revealed the first guest stars for its second season.
The list includes Giancarlo Esposito (“The Boys”), Katie Holmes (“Ray Donovan”), Gaby Hoffmann (“Transparent”), and Kumail Nanjiani (“Eternals”) who will all be hanging around with Natasha Lyonne’s Charlie Cale for a mystery-of-the-week in the new run.
Details regarding who they will play are under wraps, but the list is expected to be just the start of a star-packed second season following the success of the first.
The likes of Adrien Brody, Ron Perlman, Chloë Sevigny, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Stephanie Hsu, Clea DuVall, Hong Chau, Ellen Barkin, Charles Melton and Judith Light all appeared in the first season with Light winning an Emmy for her work.
The series follows Lyonne’s Charlie, who has an extraordinary ability to immediately determine if someone is lying. She hits the road with her Plymouth Barracuda and every stop encounters a new cast of characters and strange crimes she can’t help but solve.
Showrunner Tony Tost serves as executive producer for the new season alongside Rian Johnson, Natasha Lyonne, Ram Bergman, Nena Rodrigue, Adam Arkin, Nora Zuckerman and Lilla Zuckerman.
Filming on the second season began the other week with the new season expected to air early-mid 2025 on Peacock.
