Byron Bowers (“The Chi,” “Lady In The Lake”) has joined the ensemble cast of the Marvel series “Wonder Man” on the Disney+ service. Specifics of his role are unknown.

Filming on the series began on April 5th last year but was shut down by the end of May due to the strikes. Shooting then resumed in January.

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II stars as Simon Williams – a gifted engineer who gains superhuman abilities, including enhanced strength, speed, stamina, durability, reflexes, and agility. He becomes Wonder Man.

Also starring is Demetrius Grosse as Simon’s brother Eric Williams who is also the villain Grim Reaper that uses a scythe with coma-inducing powers.

Ed Harris co-stars as Neal Saroyan, a talent agent for Simon who goes above and beyond. Sir Ben Kingsley meanwhile reprises his role of washed up actor Trevor Slattery.

Daniel Destin Cretton and Stella Meghie each direct several episodes while Andrew Guest is head writer.
