Even before it hit cinemas, Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon were so bullish on their “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem” animated feature they gave the greenlight for a sequel and a two-season series spin-off.
Unlike many other such announcements though, they seem to be following through with it – and fast with the 2D animated series “Tales of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” set to launch next month.
So what about the second film? At last report it is currently scheduled for an October 9th 2026 theatrical release so is still some time away.
Speaking with ComicBook.com recently, writer and producer Seth Rogen confirmed that they already have a title and storyboards in place for the sequel:
“There is a title, and it’s awesome, but I don’t think I can say it. But when it came up on the screen, I stood up and cheered. There’s an animatic — there’s a storyboarded version of the whole movie, so they’re working on it right now.”
Jeff Rowe, who directed and co-wrote the first film, is returning to direct the sequel and this time will be joined by co-directors Yashar Kassai and Kyle Spears.
Actors Micah Abbey, Shamon Brown Jr., Nicolas Cantu and Brady Noon – who voice the four Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in the film – will return for the TV series and the sequel as well.
Point Grey Pictures will produce both the sequel and series while Chris Yost (“The Mandalorian”) and Alan Wan (“Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”) will be serving as the show’s executive producers and showrunners.
