Following the trailer the other week, Amazon Prime Video has released the official first clip from its highly anticipated “Batman: Caped Crusader” animated series.
Welcome to Gotham City, where the corrupt outnumber the good, criminals run rampant and law-abiding citizens live in a constant state of fear.
Forged in the fire of tragedy, wealthy socialite Bruce Wayne becomes something both more and less than human – The Batman.
His one-man crusade for justice attracts unexpected allies within the GCPD and City Hall, but his heroic actions spawn deadly, unforeseen ramifications.
Seen as a spiritual successor to the original 1990s “Batman: The Animated Series,” this is is set in the 1940s and reimagines the Batman mythology through the eyes of executive producers J.J. Abrams, Matt Reeves and Bruce Timm.
The voice cast includes Hamish Linklater as Batman/Bruce Wayne along with McKenna Grace, Toby Stephens, Reid Scott, Dan Donohue, Gary Anthony Williams, Jason Watkins, John DiMaggio, Krystal Joy Brown, Michelle C. Bonilla, Eric Morgan Stewart, Tom Kenny, Minnie Driver, Diedrich Bader, Jamie Chung, and Christina Ricci.
Ed Brubaker, James Tucker, Daniel Pipski, Rachel Rusch Rich, and Sam Register also executive produce. “Batman: Caped Crusader” will launch on Prime Video on August 1st.
