Apple TV+ has resumed its “Presumed Innocent” film for a second season, the order coming ahead of the season finale on July 24th.
The new season will focus on an entirely new case and Apple is not confirming if series star Jake Gyllenhaal will return.
The show is based on the novel of the same name by Scott Turow, and it’s unknown if this will adapt another Turow book or do its own original script.
The renewal comes as Apple says the show has become the most-viewed drama in the platform’s history since its premiere on June 12th. Apple hasn’t provided viewership information to back up that claim.
Gyllenhaal stars in the series as Rusty Sabich, a prosecutor who is accused of the murder of one of his colleagues. Ruth Negga, Bill Camp, Elizabeth Marvel, Peter Sarsgaard, O-T Fagbenle, and Renate Reinsve co-star.
David E. Kelley serves as showrunner and executive produces alongside Gyllenhaal, Matthew Tinker, Thomason White, Sharr White, J.J. Abrams, Rachel Rusch Rich, Anne Sewitsky and Greg Yaitanes.
