Jennifer Lawrence will star in a film adaptation of Paul B. Rainey’s very darkly comedic 2023 graphic novel “Why Don’t You Love Me?” for A24.
The story follows a miserable couple, Claire and Mark, struggling through their marriage while feeling like something is not quite right in their reality. Twists abound.
A rumination on marriage, alcoholism, depression and mourning lost opportunities, Robert Funke (“On Becoming a God in Central Florida”) is writing the screenplay
A director is currently being sought. Lawrence is also a producer alongside Justine Ciarrocchi, Ari Aster, Lars Knudsen and Emily Hildner.
The news follows on from the recent announcement that Lawrence would also star in the Real Housewives-inspired murder mystery film “The Wives” for Apple Original Films and A24.
