Apple TV+ has cancelled its Chris O’Dowd-led whimsical series “The Big Door Prize” after two seasons.
That means the second season run, which aired its cliffhanger finale on June 12th, marks the show’s end.
The series centers on the residents of Deerfield, a small town that is upended when a mysterious machine appears in the general store – one promising to reveal each resident’s true life potential.
Gabrielle Dennis, Josh Segarra, Ally Maki, Djouliet Amara, Sammy Fourlas, Crystal Fox and Damon Gupton co-starred.
It hailed from writer David West Read (“Schitt’s Creek”) and was based on the M.O. Walsh novel of the same name. Skydance Television and CJ ENM/Studio Dragon were behind the show.
It marks a rare cancellation for Apple TV+ as the streamer is known for being one of the few to give shows breathing room.
