Kaos
Netflix has announced an August 29th premiere date for its Greek mythology-inspired contemporary dark comedy series “Kaos” starring Jeff Goldblum as Zeus in the modern day.
The series also stars Cliff Curtis as Poseidon, David Thewlis as Hades, Janet McTeer as Hera, Killian Scott as Orpheus, Aurora Perrineau as Riddy, Daniel Lawrence Taylor as Theseus, Nabhaan Rizwan as Dionysus and Debi Mazar as Medusa. [Source: Netflix]
The Four Seasons
Will Forte will reunite with Tina Fey on the TV series “The Four Seasons” at Netflix. A reimagining of Alan Alda’s 1981 film of the same name, Fey stars and co-created the series which also stars Steve Carell, Colman Domingo, Kerri Kenney-Silver and Erika Henningsen.
The original film follows three couples who vacation together each season and the changes in the group dynamic when one couple splits and the man brings a much younger woman on subsequent trips. [Source: THR]
The Jetty
The BBC has released a trailer for its new thriller series “The Jetty” starring Jenna Coleman as Detective Ember Manning. The show, created and written by Cat Jones, launches July 15th on BBC One.
In the series a fire tears through a property in a lakeside Lancashire town. Manning must work out how it connects to a podcast journalist investigating a missing persons cold case and an illicit relationship between a man in his twenties and two underage girls. Archie Renaux, Laura Marcus, Bo Bragason, Matthew McNulty and Amelia Bullmore co-star.
Cold Water
Former “The Walking Dead” star Andrew Lincoln has landed the lead role in the ITV thriller “Cold Water” penned by playwright David Ireland. Lincoln will play John, a repressed middle-aged man secretly raging at his life as a stay-at-home dad.
John moves to a backwater Scottish village and strikes up a friendship with next-door neighbour Tommy (Ewen Bremner), who is despised by John’s wife, Fiona (Indira Varma). When the men’s relationship becomes increasingly intense, Fiona suspects Tommy isn’t all he seems to be. Filming will start later this year. [Source: Deadline]
Hit-Monkey
Hulu has released the trailer for the second season of Marvel’s animated “Hit-Monkey” series which is scheduled to premiere on Monday, July 15th.
In the new season, Fred Tatasciore’s titular assassin and Jason Sudeikis‘ ghost mentor, Bryce, must save all of humanity from a mysterious, powerful villain. The series was created and executive-produced by Josh Gordon and Will Speck.
