Netflix’s week of “One Piece” second season casting news continues with three more roles revealed today.
Veteran British actor Clive Russell (“Game of Thrones,” “Ripper Street,”) will take on the role of Crocus, a doctor, caretaker of the whale Laboon and overseer of the lighthouse that guides ships coming into the Grand Line.
South African actor Werner Coetser (“7de Laan”) and Canadian actor Brendan Murray (“Dark Matter,” “The Boys”) will play Dorry and Brogy respectively – co-captains of the Giant Warrior Pirates and an ally of Luffy (Inaki Godoy).
The first season adapted five arcs from the East Blue saga – Romance Dawn as episode 1, Orange Town as episode 2, Syrup Village as episodes 3-4, Baratie as episodes 5-6 and Arlong Park as episodes 7-8.
The new season is expected to tackle the short final arc Loguetown along with the five arcs of the Arabasta saga. This and yesterday’s casting seems to confirm at least the first three of those five arcs (Reverse Mountain, Whiskey Peak, Little Garden) are being translated in the new season.
Production on the new season gets underway in June in South Africa and runs through to January.
