A couple of brief updates today on some highly anticipated sequels on the way.
First up actor Andy Serkis, who plays Alfred Pennyworth in Matt Reeves’ 2022 film “The Batman,” revealed at ACE Superhero Comic Con (via The PopVerse) on the weekend that he’s just been notified that the sequel to that film is set to begin shooting in early 2025.
He adds about the film’s release: “If you do the math, it’ll be a year and a half after that” which matches with the October 2nd 2026 release date already set for the film.
The filming date seems to have been pushed back from a planned November shoot revealed earlier this year by executive producer Michael Uslan – but that was back when the film was slated for an October 2025 release.
Next up, Collider confirms that the first trailer for Ridley Scott’s historical epic “Gladiator II” will premiere online in mid-July.
The new report indicates it will not be coming this week with copies of “A Quiet Place: Day One” as previously reported. Instead, copies are expected to be attached to “Deadpool & Wolverine” opening on July 26th.
“Gladiator II” opens on November 15th in international markets, and November 22nd in the United States.
