There have been a couple of date announcements today, starting with Sony announcing that Robert Zemeckis’ new film, “Here,” will now have a wide release on November 15th.
The plan was previously for a platform release on the 15th, starting in New York and Los Angeles. That plan has now been scrapped in favor of an all-in-one wide release on that day.
“Here” is an original drama about multiple families and a special place they inhabit. It reunites Zemeckis with his “Forrest Gump” stars, Tom Hanks and Robin Wright. Paul Bettany, Kelly Reilly, and Michelle Dockery also star.
Next up, NEON has set “Longlegs” director Oz Perkins’ next horror film “The Monkey” for a February 21st 2025 release.
Based on a Stephen King short story from the anthology “Skeleton Crew,” Theo James plays twin brothers who stumble upon a cursed toy as kids that leads to a string of grisly deaths.
Decades later, the estranged siblings reunite when more deaths occur, forcing them to get rid of the monkey doll for good. Christian Convery, Tatiana Maslany, Elijah Wood, Colin O’Brien, Rohan Campbell, and Sarah Levy co-star.
Finally, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has announced a June 28th PVOD release followed by an August 27th disc release date for Ishana Night Shyamalan’s feature-length directorial debut “The Watchers”.
The release of the film, which scored negative reviews, on PVOD comes just three weeks after the film’s theatrical opening.
