20th Century Studios has set the home video release plans for its recent hit “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes”.
One of the few films to so successfully this Summer, the title will first hit digital storefronts on July 9th and will be followed by a disc release on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD on August 27th.
The 4K UHD edition will feature a full-length alternative cut of the film. Titled “Inside the Lens: The Raw Cut,” it’s a split-screen presentation showing the final film side by side with a version showing unfinished VFX.
This will highlight the performances of the film’s cast including Owen Teague, Freya Allan, Kevin Durand, Peter Macon and William H. Macy.
The alternative cut also has an optional audio commentary by director Wes Ball, editor Dan Zimmerman and VFX supervisor Erik Winquist.
Additional bonus features include fourteen deleted and extended scenes, and a behind-the-scenes documentary called “Inside the Forbidden Zone”.
