Fans of the “Marvel vs. Capcom” game franchise have angrily responded to the recently announced “Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection” which was revealed not to be coming to Xbox with the others.
The collection was announced during Tuesday’s Nintendo Direct presentation and will be released on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC – but so far, no indication has been given of Microsoft consoles.
Why Capcom isn’t releasing this on Xbox isn’t clear, but it follows on from numerous titles announced during Summer Game Fest events that confirmed they were also skipping the Xbox platform.
Both then and in the wake of the announcement, the hashtag ‘No Xbox’ trended. As users point out, previous Capcom collections have always been on Xbox, too, and so they ask, why is this different?
It’s especially baffling as another Capcom collection, the “Ace Attorney” titles, was also announced and it’s coming to Xbox.
“Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection” will include the following six games: “X-Men Children of the Atom,” “Marvel Super Heroes X-Men vs. Street Fighter,” “Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter,” “Marvel vs. Capcom Clash of Super Heroes,” “Marvel vs. Capcom 2 New Age of Heroes,” and “The Punisher”.
The collection is due for release on its platforms in the Fall.
