Acclaimed “Midnight Mass” and “Manhunt” star Hamish Linklater has scored the voice role of Bruce Wayne/Batman in the upcoming animated series “Batman: Caped Crusader” at Amazon Prime Video.

Linklater joins a cast that includes Jamie Chung as Harley Quinn. Christina Ricci as Catwoman and Diedrich Bader as Two-Face. Characters also confirmed to appear include Clayface, Firebug, Natalia Knight and Gentleman Ghost.

Actors who are guest starring or recurring include the likes of Minnie Driver, Eric Morgan Stuart, Michelle C. Bonilla, Krystal Joy Brown, John DiMaggio, McKenna Grace, Jason Watkins, Paul Scheer, Reid Scott, Gary Anthony Williams, Dan Donohue, David Krumholtz, Haley Joel Osment, and Toby Stephens

The project is being dubbed a reimagining of the Batman mythology and spiritual successor to the original 1990s “Batman: The Animated Series” – albeit this one will be set in the 1940s.

The show is being spearheaded by filmmakers J.J. Abrams and Matt Reeves along with “Batman: The Animated Series” veteran Bruce Timm who all executive produce.

Forged in the fire of tragedy, the series sees wealthy socialite Bruce Wayne becomes something both more and less than human — the BATMAN.

His one-man crusade for justice attracts unexpected allies within the GCPD and City Hall, but his heroic actions spawn deadly, unforeseen ramifications.

“Batman: Caped Crusader” premieres August 1st on Prime Video. Check out a brief voice sample of Linklater below.
