“Bullet Train” scribe Zak Olkewicz wrote the first draft with Eric Singer (“Top Gun: Maverick,” “American Hustle”) penned the latest draft. The project is currently in search of a director.

Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, Steve Tisch and Tony Shaw will produce the film alongside Smith, Jon Mone and Dave Wilson.

The latest “Bad Boys” has collected $215.5 million globally so far and has pushed the franchise past the $1 billion mark at the global box office.

The news follows in the wake of a report over the weekend that Smith has had meetings to potentially join “Westworld” and “Fallout” creators Jonah Nolan and Lisa Joy’s new series set in the world of artificial intelligence.
