Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are attached to star in filmmaker Joe Carnahan’s new thriller “RIP” which has been set at the pair’s company Artists Equity.
Dubbed a crime thriller, story details are being kept under wraps. Despite the lack of details, the project has already drawn interest from theatrical and streaming buyers with a distributor expected to be announced soon.
Affleck has been finishing up production on his sequel to “The Accountant” and the two were looking for a new project to do together under their banner.
Another crime thriller titled “Animals” came close to being it, but scheduling issues prevented that. Then along came this project from “The Grey,” “Narc,” “Smokin’ Aces” and “Copshop” director Carnahan.
Artists Equity launched with “Air” which released early last year to glowing reviews. They also backed the doco “The Greatest Love Story Never Told” and Berlinale title “Small Things Like These”.
Filming on “RIP will kick off this Fall.
