By Warner Bros. Animation and DC Studios are set to continue “Blue Beetle” after all with DC Studios to produce a new animated series currently in development.
Miguel Puga (“The Casagrandes”) will serve as showrunner and director with Cristian Martinez (“Good Trouble”) set as writer.
Additionally the 2023 film’s director Angel Manuel Soto and writer Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer will executive produce alongside John Rikard.
As the project is still in development, things aren’t set yet including how many (if any) of the film’s cast will return. Multiple cast members have reportedly been approached though and signs are good.
The show will build on the movie but also create its own story which, if successful, could potentially lead to a return to the big screen for the character.
The film’s cast included Xolo Mariduena, George Lopez, Adrianna Barraza, Damian Alcazar, Elpidia Carrillo, Harvey Guillén, Raoul Trujillo and Becky G as the voice Khaji-Da.
