Warner Bros. Pictures has announced they have set aside multiple release dates for a number of currently untitled pictures, mostly event films.
In addition, they have moved up M. Night Shyamalan’s new thriller “Trap” by a week. The Josh Hartnett-led film is going from an August 9th to August 2nd release.
“Trap” will now open opposite “Harold and the Purple Crayon” at Sony and Neon’s horror thriller “Cuckoo” starring Hunter Schafer who was confirmed earlier today to be starring in the “Blade Runner 2099” TV series which is currently filming in Prague.
One of the projects announced today is the first movie greenlit at James Wan and Jason Blum’s recently merged Atomic Monster and Blumhouse.
“Evil Dead Rise” filmmaker Lee Cronin will write & direct the film which New Line Cinema will release on April 17th 2026. Plot specifics for it are under wraps.
Also on the way is an untitled Warner Bros. Event film for March 26th 2027, an animated film hailing from the Warner Bros. Pictures Animation and Locksmith Animation deal which opens on July 23rd 2027, and an untitled Warner Bros. family film sequel opening December 17th 2027.
