Christina Ricci (“Yellowjackets”) and Hamish Linklater (“Midnight Mass”) are set to lead the true crime series “Chop Shop” inspired by the Kathy Braidhill bo.
Andy Bellin (“Lovelace”) is writing the story which is set amidst the funeral business in 1980s San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles.
David Sconce, the son of a Bible college football coach and a church organist, takes the reins of the family business – namely the Lamb Funeral Home which is struggling to stay afloat.
Sconce engineers a sinister new business strategy – complete with human body harvesting and mass cremation. The dark story follows how this All-American former football star turns into a Southern Californian sociopath.
Linklater will play David Sconce and Ricci is attached to play a journalist inspired by Braidhill. Ricci and Laura Rister are producing with directors and showrunners currently being sought.
Ricci is currently filming the third season of “Yellowjackets” while Linklater is currently shooting the second season of “The Boys” spinoff “Gen V”.
