“Mildred Pierce” writer/director Todd Haynes, star Kate Winslet and network HBO are all re-teaming for the limited series “Trust” which is currently in development.
The series is an adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize-winning 2023 novel by Hernan Diaz. In a story told from multiple, competing perspectives, a 1920s Wall Street tycoon amasses a sudden fortune but loses a beloved wife.
Decades later, his attempts to control the narrative of his life are undone by a biographer who uncovers the ultimate secrets of the legendary marriage.
Jon Raymond will co-write the project, while he and Haynes both serve as executive producers alongside Diaz, Winslet, Christine Vachon and Pamela Koffler.
Haynes is best known for directing films like “Velvet Goldmine,” “Carol,” “Far from Heaven,” “I’m Not There,” “Dark Waters” and most recently “May December”.
“Trust” will continue Winslet’s HBO limited series work following several success stories, notably “Mare of Easttown,” though her early 2024 series “The Regime” did not fare so well.
