By Filmmaker Rian Johnson has released the first photo from the set of “Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery” – the third entry in the whodunnit franchise and the second to premiere on Netflix.
The black-and-white shot shows the franchise’s star, Daniel Craig, returning as detective Benoit Blanc. This time Blanc has a longer hairdo than prior entries.
The posting also confirms that filming on the project began today in the United Kingdom ahead of a 2025 release.
Joining Craig and Johnson in this outing are Josh O’Connor, Cailee Spaeny, Andrew Scott, Thomas Haden Church, Kerry Washington, Mila Kunis, Daryl McCormack, Glenn Close, Jeremy Renner and Josh Brolin.
Blanc is expected to solve a new murder mystery in a yet-to-be-disclosed setting and another colorful array of suspects.
Johnson and Ram Bergman are producing with the film said to be “tonally and thematically different” from the previous installments.
