Sol Rodríguez (“Star Trek: Picard”) and David Denman (“Bosch: Legacy”) have joined the second season of James Gunn’s “Peacemaker” series at DC, Warner Bros. Television, and Max.
Argentinian actress Rodríguez is playing Sasha Bordeaux while Denman’s role is being kept under wraps. In the comics, Bordeaux has an association with Checkmate – a division of Task Force X.
They join fellow newcomer to the season Frank Grillo who is playing Rick Flagg Sr. and is reprising the role after voicing it for the upcoming animated “Creature Commandos” series.
The second season is written by Gunn who will direct three episodes of the new eight-episode run once he wraps his “Superman” commitments. John Cena, Danielle Brooks, Freddie Stroma, Jennifer Holland and Steve Agee also return.
How the new season will deal with the new DC Universe continuity isn’t clear as yet, Gunn having only teased that he’s ‘found a way in’ that will allow the show to shift from the old DCEU canon to the new DCU canon.
Gunn and Peter Safran serve as executive producers on the series, with Cena as co-executive producer. It’s expected the second season of “Peacemaker” will air in 2025.
