The Xbox Games Showcase was held this morning where the new all-digital version of its Series X was announced as coming this Holiday season. The console will be white and come in at a price of $449.99.
New models of the existing Series S and X are also coming out with double capacity SSDs – a white 1Tb Series S and a star-speckled black Series X with disc drive and 2Tb.
The console announcement was made amidst a slew of title drops and first gameplay footage released during the Showcase.
Xbox president Sarah Bond also teased that Microsoft is developing the ‘next generation’ of its console offering. She says in a statement:
“It’s our mission to make Xbox the best place for you to play by including the titles from our own studios in Game Pass at launch, by bringing your games into the future with our commitment to game preservation, by pushing the technical boundaries in our future hardware, and empowering you to play your games anywhere you want on Xbox consoles, PC, and cloud. This is what defines Xbox today and in the future, and we’re hard at work on the next generation.”
Pre-order details and regional pricing will be released at a later date.
