Noah Hawley’s upcoming “Alien” prequel TV series for FX has reportedly landed the working title of “Alien: Neverland”.
According to World of Reel who broke the title news, “Alien: Neverland” commences thirty years prior to the events of Scott’s “Alien” film and not seventy as previously indicated.
Going by timelines from fandom, that puts the events taking place in the year 2092, just one year prior to the events of “Prometheus”.
However with Ridley Scott not involved, Hawley recently teased that the series will adopt the original film’s retro-futurism aesthetic as opposed to the gleaming more modern look of “Prometheus” tech.
In the series, characters are caught in a conflict with the beginning of AI intelligence and the competition among developers and users.
The show was greenlit four years ago but was hit with multiple delays due to the pandemic and then the strikes. Filming is taking place in Thailand with some additional VFX work photography running through July.
Sydney Chandler, Alex Lawther, Samuel Blenkin, Essie Davis, Adarsh Gourav, Kit Young, Timothy Olyphant and David Rysdahl star. The show is expected to premiere in the first half of 2025.
