We’ve already covered some of the announcements from this year’s Summer Game Fest presentation, from “Batman: Arkham Shadow” to “The Thing” remastered. Now here’s a look at the rest.
One major new game reveal was “Civilization VII” coming to all platforms in 2025. The strategy simulation franchise hasn’t had a new installment since “Civilization VI” back in 2016, and the cinematic trailer for a new entry was bookended by none other than designer Sid Meier himself.
“Alan Wake II” gets its first DLC which hits this weekend. Titled ‘Night Springs,’ it has three playable characters – the waitress Rose Marigold, Shawn Ashmore’s Tim Breaker character (who may be “Quantum Break” related), and “Control” character Jesse Faden.
“LEGO Horizon Adventures,” a LEGO spin on PlayStation’s “Horizon: Zero Dawn” franchise, was also announced – a co-op game combining puzzles and combat in which Aloy and pals must confront sun worshipping cult leader. It hits PS5, PC, and Switch this year.
“Sonic X Shadow Generations” is a remaster of “Sonic Generations” but with added Shadow gameplay. “Slitterhead” which hails from “Silent Hill” creator Keiichiro Toyama, was revealed. Blumhouse Productions’ games label showed off a reel of various horror games they have on the way.
There was also big new trailers for “Dune: Awakening,” “Star Wars: Outlaws,” “Phantom Blade Zero,” “Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2,” “Black Myth: Wukong,” “Monster Hunter Wilds,” “Hyper Light Breaker” and the “Skate” revival.
New titles included “Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions,” “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind,” a new “Killer Bean” game and more. Here’s some trailers.
