Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc. today gave another glimpse into the compelling story and setting behind UNKNOWN 9: AWAKENING, the narrative-driven action-adventure game based on original IP created by Reflector Entertainment. Revealed on the Summer Game Fest livestream, a new trailer showcases protagonist Haroona, portrayed by renowned British actress Anya Chalotra, and her globe-trotting journey. Players take on the role of Haroona, a mysterious Quaestor born with the ability to draw power from another dimension, to avenge the death of her mentor and save humanity. In the new trailer, players learn that Haroona has always relied on her beloved mentor Reika’s teaching to help her master abilities related to the Fold, a mysterious dimension that overlaps our own. Since Haroona was a child, Reika trained her on the intricacies of this other dimension, tutored her on the mysterious and unknown elements of the world, and often recounted tales of enigmatic immortal figures said to preside over all of humanity’s knowledge — the Unknown 9.
All her training came to an abrupt end the moment Vincent Lichter decided to take Reika’s life. As the leader of the Ascendants, Vincent believes the Unknown 9 have kept humanity from realizing its true potential for far too long. A former pupil of Reika’s, Vincent committed himself to freeing the world of their influence, ensuring humankind takes control of its own destiny, regardless of the consequences. His betrayal took too much from Haroona, so she must stop him. Can Haroona prevent humanity’s best-kept secrets from falling into the wrong hands?

Today at the Summer Game Fest 2024 live stream, NEXON announced that The First Descendant, NEXON Games’ Co-Op Looter Shooter, will be available Free-to-Play across PC via Steam, PlayStation 4 & 5 and Xbox One and Series X | S on Tuesday, July 2, 2024. Enlisting Descendants are encouraged to add The First Descendant to their Steam, PlayStation and Xbox wishlist as they prepare for the launch.
The announcement was made within a brand-new cinematic trailer, created in the recently updated Unreal Engine 5, which featured major Descendants dropping into the fight, coming face-to-face with new foes and meeting some new allies along the way. The latest trailer not only highlights the thrilling action and cooperative gameplay that players can experience, but it reveals new characters and bosses that will be introduced at launch and through post-launch updates.
With the July 2 launch date revealed, Nexon is gearing up to share full details soon; including launch elements and events. More details will be shared via media and creator previews before the launch.
After concluding its cross play Open Beta in September 2023, game producer Lee Beomjun and director Minseok Joo have been regularly sharing key development updates through Dev Talks and Dev Notes, including top-requested enhancements and game features like mission variety, user interface improvements and further optimized graphics. While drawing visual inspiration from the award-winning cinematography created for Denis Villeneuve’s masterpiece film series, Dune: Awakening will take place in an alternate timeline to that of the books and movies. Players will be met with a game that stays true to the beloved world of Dune while creating an opportunity to surprise players with a narrative that hinges on one key decision that reimagines the future of Arrakis.
In Dune: Awakening, Jessica Atreides never gave birth to Paul, instead choosing to obey the orders of the Bene Gesserit to have a daughter. She names her Ariste Atreides, who is a character players will meet in the game. This key decision causes a chain reaction that fundamentally changes the situation on Arrakis, leading ultimately to the survival of Duke Leto Atreides and a War of Assassins between the Harkonnens and the Atreides.
This is the Arrakis that players are dropped into in Dune: Awakening; one torn by war between two Great Houses, the Fremen missing after being hunted down, and at the center of it all: the spice that must flow.

Today during Summer Game Fest, developer Ivy Road and publisher Annapurna Interactive revealed Wanderstop, a narrative-centric cozy game about change and tea.
Wanderstop is the first game from Ivy Road, led by Davey Wreden, creator of The Stanley Parable and The Beginner’s Guide, Karla Zimonja, co-creator of Gone Home and Tacoma, and Daniel “C418” Rosenfeld, the composer behind the music of Minecraft.
Blumhouse Games has revealed six upcoming original horror titles, launching in 2024 and beyond. A first look trailer, which premiered on stage during Summer Game Fest, showcased a diverse roster of thrilling interactive experiences, created in partnership with innovative game designers around the world.

Pilots, ENGAGE! Today at Summer Game Fest, Amazing Seasun Games revealed the latest trailer for its multiplayer mech-action shooter, Mecha BREAK, and announced the PC Summer Closed Beta Test coming in August 2024.
Mecha BREAK is a fast-paced online shooter in which players pilot fully customizable mechs and compete in PvP and PvEvP game modes among players of different weapon types and calibers.
SEGA/ATLUS unveiled a new trailer, titled “Awaken,” for their upcoming fantasy RPG Metaphor: ReFantazio at today’s Summer Game Fest show. On stage to introduce the trailer was the game’s Director Katsura Hashino (Persona 3, 4 and 5, Shin Megami Tensei III – Nocturne) and Character Designer Shigenori Soejima (Persona series).
