The other day came a report from The InSneider that “Get Out” and “Nope” filmmaker Jordan Peele had met with Marvel Studios for an upcoming project.
Which project wasn’t clear, with speculation rife that it was over their troubled “Blade” production or a “Midnight Sons” movie. Now, One Take News has a follow-up report offering some more details.
According to their sources, Peele did indeed meet with Marvel Studios to discuss an upcoming movie, specifically their “X-Men” film in the works.
They say it’s important to note that the meeting actually took place “a long time ago” and “it didn’t work out”. That said, it doesn’t mean Peele and Marvel don’t want to work together on something else.
They add that Peele would likely want to write the script on top of directing the project he was handling, something he wouldn’t get with “X-Men” as Marvel spent months and only recently secured their scribe Michael Lesslie to pen it.
That would also likely rule out “Blade” which has already gone through multiple writers and years of delays related to a script that finally seems to be in a workable state story-wise.
