By Jake Gyllenhaal has joined the cast of his sister Maggie Gyllenhaal’s “The Bride!” film which is currently shooting in London.
Christian Bale, Jessie Buckley, Annette Bening, Penelope Cruz, and Peter Sarsgaard co-star in the film which is effectively a reimagination of James Whale’s iconic 1935 classic “Bride of Frankenstein”.
In the $80 million-budgeted film, a lonely Frankenstein monster (Bale) travels to 1930s Chicago to seek the aide of a Dr. Euphronius in creating a companion for himself.
The two reinvigorate a murdered young woman and the Bride (Jessie Buckley) is born. She is beyond what either of them intended, igniting a combustible romance, the attention of the police and a wild and radical social movement.
Emma Tillinger Koskoff, Talia Kleinhendler and Osnant Handelsman-Keren produce. It marks Gyllenhaal’s second directorial effort following 2021’s psychological drama “The Lost Daughter”.
Warner Bros. Pictures is set to release the film theatrically and with an IMAX launch on October 3rd 2025.
