SNL veteran and comedian Beck Bennett has joined the cast of James Gunn’s currently in production “Superman” film.

Bennett will reportedly play one of the notable reporters at the Daily Planet newspaper in the film.

Filming in Atlanta, the film sees David Corenswet starring as Clark Kent/Superman along with Rachel Brosnahan as reporter Lois Lane. Bennett will likely have scenes with both along with Skyler Gisondo’s Jimmy Olsen and Wendell Pierce’s Perry White.

The cast also includes Nicholas Hoult (Lex Luthor), Sara Sampai (Eve Teschmacher), Edi Gathegi (Mister Terrific), Terence Rosemore (Otis), Anthony Carrigan (Metamorpho), Isabela Merced (Hawkgirl), Nathan Fillion (Guy Gardner), and Maria Gabriela de Faría (The Engineer).

The new film will follow Superman as he looks to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.

“Superman” will open in cinemas on July 11th 2025.
